Jennifer Lopez told herself to "f****** figure yourself out" after her divorce from Ben Affleck.
The 56-year-old singer realised she needed to work on herself and not blame others after becoming single in April 2024. Jennifer filed for divorce from the 53-year-old actor four months later, ending their two-year marriage, and it was finalised in January 2025.
Appearing on the latest episode of actors Jason Bateman, 57, Will Arnett, 56, and 55-year-old Sean Hayes' SmartLess podcast, the On the Floor hitmaker - who has maintained a close friendship with Ben - admitted there have been times in her life where "my life blew up in my own face".
She added: "It was because of the choices I made, but also because of the fact that I had things that needed to change about myself that I didn't understand or recognise that was attracting certain things and attracting a certain type of experience into my life.
"So, I want to give myself that credit too, but there comes a point where it's all so puzzling and wrong where you have to sit there.
"And after my last divorce, I just sat there and I was like, I cancelled my tour and I sat there and I was just like, 'You need to f****** figure yourself out. What is going on with you? Forget about everybody else. There's nobody to blame here except yourself, in a certain way.'"
Jennifer - who was married to actor Ojani Noa, 52, from 1997 until 1998, 56-year-old dancer Cris Judd (2001-2002), and 57-year-old singer-and-actor Marc Anthony (2004-2014) - reflected on her life now.
The Kiss of the Spider-Woman actress shared: I'm also staring down - what is my life now? The past 20 years, it's been one thing, the past five years has been a tumult, and then the last two years has been kind of the healing process from that tumult, where I really got to know myself."
Jennifer said she is in a better place now compared to a couple of years ago.
The Grammy nominee continued: "The person I am today is so different than the person I was even two years ago, it's crazy. And now I can really look at my life, appreciate it for what it is and what I've created for myself and be really happy."
Earlier this month, Jennifer shut down the idea of meeting her next man on social media.
During the June 8 episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the 58-year-old host asked: "Do you check your DMs, Jennifer?"
She replied: "No."
Andy wondered how she would respond if a "hot Spanish footballer" slid into her private messages.
But the Anaconda alum responded: "I think they would be able to find me, no? If you really wanted to find me, you could find me."
Jennifer added: "You're not going to find me through Instagram or sliding into my DMs. You have to make more of an effort than that."
The entertainer and actor Brett Goldstein, 45, star in Netflix's rom-com, Office Romance, in which airline CEO Jackie Cruz (Jennifer) and Daniel Blanchflower (Brett), her firm's lawyer, have a secret relationship.
It has been rumoured that the pair have struck up a romance off-screen, but she and Brett recently shut down the speculation.
During a recent appearance on NBC's The Today Show, Jennifer told host Savannah Guthrie, 54, that they are "not dating".
Ted Lasso's Brett added: "Correct."
